Dr. Austin Nweze

started out as an entrepreneur in 1988 after a brief stint with NewBreed and the President magazines. For over three years he published Successful People magazine, the first Nigerian magazine focused on the promotion of entrepreneurship, which contributed to the recent interest and attention being given to the subject and sector by the government, universities, NGOs, and the private sector. For over 15 years he consulted and developed and delivered training programs for corporate organizations and government establishments in the areas of management, media relations, finance, financial planning, retirement planning, marketing, strategy and soft skills.

He worked with the Institute of Financial Planning as the Director of Programmes and Publication, and Director of learning and management education before joining the Lagos Business School (LBS), Pan African University in the executive education. He is involved in research, teaching, marketing, and was the head of Center for Applied Economics of the LBS.

Austin has also attended advanced Management courses both in Nigeria (including Lagos Business School - AMP 18, Developing and Managing Business Ventures and Executive Team Leadership) and abroad. He is a Center for Management Development (CMD) accredited Trainer and Insight Learning Foundation (USA) certified facilitator. He is a member of USA based International Association of Facilitators (IAF), Nigerian Facilitators Network (NFN), and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He has varied experiences in consulting for corporate and government institutions at different levels and a speaker at the Geneva-based ITC outsourcing conference in Ghana, Nigeria, and authored a book (Strategic Business Outsourcing) for ITC. He is the founding President of Association of Outsourcing Practitioners of Nigeria (AOPN)

Dr Austin Nweze was part of the facilitation team for the Nigeria 2020 Business Scenarios in October 2006. He participates as a mentor and facilitator in Center for Values in Leadership (CVL) community development services programs and facilitator at the DFID sponsored Ajegunle community project skills acquisition training for women. Key participant in the drafting of DFID's 2008-2013 strategic plan; key participant in the review of Nigeria Trade and Industrial Policy, federal ministry of commerce and industry. He was a member of the Ministerial Committee for the National Film Development Fund (alternate to Prof. Pat Utomi), and also a member of National Film Fund report writing subcommittee. He is an Associate Adjunct Faculty member of The Island Open University.

Dr. Austin Nweze is self-motivated, passionate and enthusiastic and a frequent commentator on economic, business, and national issues on both radio, magazines, national newspapers, and TV. He is a panellist and anchors a segment in the popular TV issue-based program, PATITO's GANG. Dr Austin

writes regularly for newspapers and magazines, and currently maintains a weekly column in The Nation on Sunday newspaper.

He has the ability to generate good ideas, distil information and make things happen. Dr. Nweze has been involved in research on management buy out which led to the publishing of his books, Taking the Bull by the Horn, Enterprise Champions, as well as other books; written case studies on ethics, corporate success factors and failures. He currently lectures Business Journalism, and Economic and Business Environment (post graduate) at the School of Media and Communication of the Pan African University, Lagos, Nigeria.

Dr. Austin Nweze has BBA, MBA, and PhD degrees.
